This was the first Year since the UN General Assembly proclaimed an International Day of Happiness.

The Grand Central Branch of the NY Public Library, which is few blocks form the UN  used the theme of  “Happiness – An Inner Perspectives” for a Poetry and Art Display during April – June 2013.


It was a National Poetry Month collaboration between the Grand Central Library and The United nations SRC Society of Writers.


The pursuit of happiness is a fundamental and universal human right.

What constitutes deep and abiding happiness?

Is out pursuit of happiness a mind-driven experiment, of a heart-guided experience?


In this presentation for the National Poetry Month, selected poems and artistic creations by Sri Chinmoy* invite the viewer to reflect upon happiness, and to experience happiness within.

*Sri Chinmoy led the Peace Meditations at the United Nations from 1970 until his passing in 2007


The Grand Central Library is located at 135 East 46th Street (between Lexington& third Aves.
